Shipping wood flooring depends on coverage per carton, full carton count, outer dimensions, gross weight and delivery conditions. Calculate those quantities for the exact product, then compare eligible route prices. Solid wood, engineered wood and laminate are not interchangeable packing references; an area alone cannot establish their weight or freight cost.

100 m² of wood flooring: carton-based shipping inputs
59 complete cartons of one published reference model. Flooring purchase coverage is not whole-home floor area, and it is not packed CBM.
Packed volume
2.149 m³
Manufacturer-published carton weight
1,190.91 kg
Complete packing group
59 packages
Planning chargeable weight

100 m² ÷ 1.710345 m² per carton → 59 whole cartons. Purchased coverage: 100.91 m². Rounded up to whole cartons; no installation waste allowance added.

Included: 59 complete original cartons covering 100.910353 m²
Not included: Cutting waste or spare cartons; Underlay; Skirting and mouldings; Adhesive; Additional export pallets, crates and reinforcement; Other products
This is one manufacturer model's original-carton reference, not an average for every wood floor. Its country of manufacture and Chinese availability are not established.
Manufacturer-published carton weight. The source does not separately label gross versus net; this is not a measured export gross weight.
Carton rounding is included, but cutting waste and spare cartons are not automatically added. Choose the purchased coverage you actually require.
Pallets and extra export packing can change both volume and weight. The source's pallet weights are not used to infer an unverified pallet tare.
The public model provides packing arithmetic, not a new US monetary quote. Final route acceptance and any shipment-specific charges need review.

What a 100, 150 or 300 m² comparison should keep the same
Use the same product, package specification, packing stage and destination. Change only the purchased coverage and recalculate the number of full cartons. Show the resulting volume, weight value and weight source beside the route amount. The Miami examples use the manufacturer's published Carton Weight as a reference; the source does not separately label gross versus net, so this is not confirmed export gross weight. Final carton or pallet gross weight still needs verification.
A published carton weight can support a clearly labelled original-carton scenario without becoming a measured shipment fact. If the source provides no weight or outer size, keep that field unknown; do not invent it. Additional export protection, pallets and accessories are not silently included.
The older team allowance of 2–3 m³ for 80–130 m² is early experience. Its endpoints do not describe one exact product or establish a weight. It must not be scaled into an asserted 300 m² shipment or combined with a made-up kg/m² value.

A heavy delivery needs a site plan
Check the heaviest final pallet or crate and who can unload it. A residential postcode does not confirm a forklift, tail-lift or safe carrying route. Keep the base-freight calculation while asking separately about access and handling.
Questions before you commit
Can I estimate flooring shipping from square metres alone?+
Only as a clearly labelled early scenario tied to a specific product's coverage per carton, complete carton count and outer dimensions. A manufacturer's published carton weight may be used as a reference with its stated basis, not as confirmed export gross weight. Final gross weight needs verification; missing weight must not be replaced with zero or an invented average.
Does doubling coverage double the shipping price?+
Not necessarily. Full-carton rounding, rate bands, final pallets and delivery conditions can change the calculation. Recalculate the combined shipment instead of multiplying a previous quote.
What does the 300 m² wood-flooring example actually include?+
It uses the named Miami product's published carton coverage, outer size and carton-weight reference, rounded up to whole cartons. It does not include an installation waste allowance, export pallets or crates, underlay, trims or other accessories. It is not your supplier's confirmed packing.
