Step 2 of 5

What are you planning to buy?

Name each product in plain language. Material and use matter because two objects of the same size can have different customs treatment.

We plan shipments of finished residential renovation materials, furniture and home goods. We do not handle cement, mortar, light-gauge steel framing or other basic construction materials. Product details, packing, route conditions and destination requirements still need review before acceptance.

3. Packing dimensions & volume Optional
Step 3 of 5

Turn products into packed volume.

Shipping uses the outside of the package, not the visible product. Choose the best information you actually have.

How do you want to enter volume?

Do not add a made-up packing factor

Ask the supplier for five facts.

  • Final package count
  • Outside length, width and height
  • Gross weight per package
  • Whether the package can be stacked
  • Whether a crate or pallet is included
4. Gross weight Optional
Step 4 of 5

Add weight—or keep the uncertainty visible.

The calculator compares volumetric weight with the weight supplied so far. Missing weights stay unknown; the base price is provisional, not a guaranteed minimum.

Packed volume is still missing.

No automatic freight number will be shown. Your WhatsApp draft will ask Foshan Cargo what the supplier must provide.

5. Customs review details Optional
Step 5 of 5

Prepare the customs review—not an automatic tax bill.

Verified automatic duty amounts are not available in this version. You can still create your freight planning sheet now and add customs details later.

Duty stays marked “Not calculated yet”. It is not zero, and no invented tax amount is added to your DDP base freight.

Add customs details for specialist review (optional)

Use the actual product description, material, use, origin and value. A supplier HS code still needs destination classification review.

Two-letter country code; use CN only when China is confirmed.

Customs needs a separate review.

Special duties, VAT or sales tax, importer obligations and the final declaration basis may change the amount payable. The team confirms the applicable scope in writing.

Changes also update automatically.

What these shipment records can—and cannot—prove

These are Buildcargo Logistics shipment records, not bookings made through this new calculator. They demonstrate the work on those shipments, not a guaranteed price, timing, customs treatment or delivery result for yours.

United States: This completed shipment record is not an estimate-accuracy test or a promised transit time. New cargo still needs its own written quote and delivery scope.

Canada: The 607 items are not cartons, packages or SKUs. Small home goods were part of a combined household shipment; this is not proof of a standalone small-parcel service.

Spain: Shows this shipment's scope and outcome, not a universal unloading method, damage-free guarantee or price for new cargo.

36 of 36 questions

Before buying

Your own suppliers, one item or finished home materials.

Can I ask about shipping before I buy anything?

Yes. Send the product link or your planning list and the destination, even if packing details are missing. We can identify what needs checking; a planning estimate does not confirm that the goods have been accepted for transport.

Do I have to buy through you?

No. You can use your own factory, showroom, Alibaba, 1688 or Taobao seller. Before arranging dispatch, agree the cargo's suitability, receiving instructions and shipment scope with the team. Product purchasing terms remain between you and the seller unless separately agreed.

Can I start with one sofa or a few small home items?

Yes, you can ask about one item or several. The available route and whether it makes sense depend on the item, packed size, weight and destination. This website does not automatically quote a standalone express or air-parcel service for small items.

Do you handle building materials as well as furniture?

Enquiries can include finished furniture, home goods and finished building materials such as cabinets, doors, windows, stone, tiles and bathroom products. Cement, mortar and light-gauge framing are outside this website's service scope. Each product still needs route, packing and destination review before acceptance.

What if an item has a battery, liquid, electrical part or unusual material?

Identify it before paying the supplier or sending goods. Share the product description and relevant specification or safety documents so the team can check the proposed route. An ordinary furniture estimate is not approval for restricted, dangerous or otherwise unsuitable goods.

Are the furniture examples products you sell or actual packing for my order?

No. The 15 specific models across seven categories use complete package sets from official manufacturer records. Choose a model close to your product's size and disassembly or packing method. A room-size match compares the item's footprint and any supplied room height; room dimensions do not become shipping CBM. A flat-pack reference does not describe a fitted stone bar counter. Extra export crates and pallets are excluded. Replace the reference with your supplier's actual packing before confirming shipment.

Price and missing details

What the number includes, and what remains provisional.

Can I see a price if I know the volume but not the weight?

Yes, where the destination, postcode and route can be matched. The estimator can use volumetric weight from the packed volume and marks gross weight as unconfirmed. When final packed volume and gross weight are known, the higher chargeable weight applies under the displayed route calculation.

What happens if I know the weight of only some packages?

The known weights remain a subtotal, not the weight of the complete shipment. The sheet identifies missing weights and the provisional basis used for any estimate. Do not treat a partial-weight result as a final quote or a promised minimum price.

Can I use the furniture's product dimensions?

Assembled product dimensions are not packed shipping dimensions. If packing is unknown, explicitly select a manufacturer model close to your product's size and packing method; its complete package set provides a labelled planning reference. Room dimensions do not convert to CBM. Extra export crates, pallets and reinforcement need separate packing data. Replace the reference with your supplier's actual outer package sizes, counts and weights before confirming freight.

Is the DDP number on my sheet everything I will pay?

No. DDP base freight only. Surcharges require separate review. Confirm your shipment-specific written quote before booking.

Does the sheet calculate my final customs duty or tax?

No. The current workflow gathers information for customs review; it does not provide a verified automatic final tax amount. Product classification, origin, true value, route and destination rules need checking. A separate duty reference is not an amount to add again to the DDP base estimate.

When does the estimate become a written shipping price?

The planning estimate uses the information available today. Once the planned goods are together and their actual packing is reviewed, confirm the measured cargo list, itemised quote and agreed delivery scope before international dispatch. Keep the quote date, validity and version. Check that additions are explained rather than silently replacing the starting estimate; changed cargo or work needs written reconfirmation.

Warehouse and packing

Receiving, inspection, storage and combining orders.

Can I give the warehouse address to my supplier now?

First agree the receiving service with the team. Each delivery needs the correct recipient instructions, supplier or order reference, ready date and expected package count. A public warehouse address or a calculator result is not permission to dispatch unregistered goods.

Where will my goods be received?

Buildcargo publishes its operating warehouse in Shenzhen, with the company identity and address available for verification. Your actual receiving instructions must be confirmed for the booking. The published warehouse photo shows operations; it does not identify your goods, prove ownership of the building or establish a storage entitlement.

Can you combine orders that arrive on different days?

Yes, subject to an agreed receiving and shipment plan. List each supplier, ready date and expected packages. Before arrivals begin, confirm which event starts storage time, how chargeable days are counted, the planned release date and what happens if one order is late. A supplier's dispatch date is not the warehouse arrival date. Consolidation does not make storage free or guarantee a saving.

Will you open and inspect every item?

Not by default. Receiving records visible and countable package facts; factory-sealed products normally remain closed. Opening selected packages needs approval. Product-specific checks against an order, drawing or sample are a separately agreed scope, not laboratory testing, certification or a guarantee against hidden defects.

What happens if the warehouse finds damage or a missing package?

The team records the visible exception and compares receiving information with supplier dispatch records. The next action—hold, inspect, replace, repack or continue—needs your confirmation. The record helps resolve the issue; it does not automatically establish fault or promise that Buildcargo pays for a supplier error.

What if the packing changes after I receive a quote?

Ask what changed, why, and whether new dimensions, weight, handling or charges are involved. Confirm the proposed work and cost before it proceeds; after repacking, match the revised measurements to a dated cargo list and quote revision before dispatch. Keep your written approval with those versions. Repacking can increase protection, volume and weight; it does not always reduce freight cost.

Booking and protection

The company, written confirmation and protection questions.

Will I receive a written quote and agreement before booking?

Yes. Buildcargo provides your shipment-specific written quote and agreement privately before booking. First, the team reviews the actual goods, packing and delivery arrangements with you. Send your current planning sheet to start that review.

Which records should I keep for my shipment?

Keep the latest planning sheet, supplier list, measured packing list, written quote and available progress or delivery records together. Use the shipment reference and dates to match each record to your goods, and retain any updated versions.

How do I verify a payment request?

Check a payment request and its recipient with the team's official contact before paying. If instructions change, verify them through the same official channel. The calculator produces a planning sheet, so generating a result does not ask you to make a payment.

Can I change the goods or delivery plan after estimating?

Yes, you can update your planning sheet as your purchases become clearer. If the team is already arranging your shipment, tell your project contact before changing goods, dates or the delivery address, and ask for an updated written plan and quote.

Is cargo insurance included automatically?

Transport damage or loss is handled under your confirmed transport agreement. Additional commercial cargo insurance is not automatically included. You can request it privately before departure; any insurance cover follows the issued policy.

Transport and customs

Pickup, route choice, documents and progress.

Can you arrange collection from my supplier?

Ask for collection to be reviewed using the supplier's location, contacts, ready date, package count, dimensions and weight. Pickup and its charge must be included in the agreed plan or quoted separately. Do not assume a displayed international base rate includes collection from every supplier or city.

Do I need a full container for furniture?

Suitable smaller orders can be reviewed for shared-container shipping. If your planned volume exceeds 57 m³, request a full-container quote. For suitable shipments, we can review direct factory-to-door movement with routing and delivery arrangements agreed before shipment. The calculator does not provide an automatic full-container price or discount.

What if my country or postcode does not get an automatic price?

You can still send the planning sheet for review. The automatic estimator covers only matched routes and conditions; Canada and the United Kingdom currently require manual pricing. No displayed price does not mean every route is unavailable, and an enquiry does not establish service availability.

When does the quoted shipping time start and end?

Ask for both events in writing. A route may count from warehouse acceptance, container loading or vessel departure; an arrival estimate may end at port or at the agreed home handover. Confirm which applies, what preparation time sits outside that window, and whether each date is estimated or confirmed. If packing, supplier readiness, customs or the carrier schedule changes, ask for the revised milestones—not one unexplained delivery date.

What does dispatched mean, and what records can I check?

A supplier sending goods to the warehouse, a warehouse releasing cargo, container loading and vessel departure are separate events. Ask the update to name the event, date and available shipment reference. The project contact shares confirmed milestones through WhatsApp and written records; ask for the agreed receiving, measurement, packing, loading and handover evidence. A loading photo does not prove vessel departure, and not every movement has a photo or live location.

What customs information will you need from me?

Start with accurate product descriptions, materials and uses, quantities, supplier invoices or true values, and any available classification or product documents. Requirements depend on the goods and destination. The team confirms the applicable document plan; a low declaration or incomplete product description is not a legitimate substitute for that review.

Delivery and problems

Unloading, handover, damage and supplier issues.

Does door-to-door mean unloading, carrying inside and installation?

Not automatically. Ask the written plan to name the accessible delivery point and whether completion means truck arrival there or a separately agreed unloading or handover task. Confirm who provides the people and equipment. Carrying indoors, lifting upstairs and installation need separate agreement; share access restrictions and heavy or fragile package details before dispatch.

Do I need a forklift or a moving team?

The unloading provider needs individual package sizes and weights, lifting or fork-entry details, supplier handling instructions and photos of the access and ground conditions. Long glass, stone and window assemblies may need specialist handling. Total shipment weight alone cannot determine the crew or equipment; agree the plan before arrival.

What if my home is not ready or the delivery address changes?

Tell the project contact as early as possible. Storage, another vehicle, waiting or a new delivery attempt may need fresh availability and pricing. Get the changed handover arrangement and charges confirmed in writing rather than assuming the original quote covers a different address or receiving date.

What should I record when the truck arrives?

Check the package count and visible condition at handover where possible. Record the actual handover date, photograph any concern and keep the receipt, labels and packing. Send the records and shipment reference to your project contact promptly.

What should I do if a package is damaged or missing?

Photograph the packaging and the concern, keep the labels and receiving record, and contact the team promptly with your shipment reference. Transport damage or loss is handled under your confirmed transport agreement. If you arranged additional commercial cargo insurance, the issued policy governs that cover. Discuss the next step with the team privately.

What if the supplier sent the wrong item or a replacement part is needed?

Compare the goods with your order and supplier specification, and send photos to the supplier and your project contact. Ask the supplier to confirm the correction, then discuss any replacement package and shipping arrangement with the team before it is sent.

Use these answers to prepare your shipment. The team reviews the goods, route and delivery conditions with you and provides the shipment-specific written quote and agreement privately.

After the estimate

Know the next step. Keep the record.

Start with your planning sheet. Buildcargo Logistics, the same team behind Foshan Cargo, reviews it with you, coordinates the agreed receiving and packing, and takes the confirmed shipment through to handover.

  1. Share the list you have

    You provide or decide
Send the latest planning sheet, product links or supplier list and destination. Mark reference sizes, supplier estimates and missing details.
    The team checks or arranges
Check route suitability, identify missing information and separate the starting estimate from charges that still need review.
    The record to keep
A dated starting cargo list, estimate basis and open items—not an accepted booking.
  2. Agree receiving before suppliers send goods

    You provide or decide
Confirm supplier references, ready dates and expected packages. Agree the scope and charges for pickup, receiving, storage and any inspection before authorising work.
    The team checks or arranges
Confirm receiving instructions and order labels, and coordinate the agreed arrivals. Sending goods from a supplier to the warehouse is not international departure.
    The record to keep
Receiving instructions, supplier/order references and agreed warehouse conditions, including how storage time is counted.
  3. Check the measured cargo against your order

    You provide or decide
Compare arrivals with your supplier list. Decide how to handle exceptions and authorise any selected-package opening or additional inspection.
    The team checks or arranges
Record package counts, labels, visible outer condition, packed dimensions and gross weight within scope. Identify whether each measurement is before or after repacking.
    The record to keep
The measured package list and available receiving photos or exception records. Measurement is not a full product inspection.
  4. Confirm the cargo and written price

    You provide or decide
Check the measured cargo list, packing work, quoted charges and delivery point with the team before international dispatch.
    The team checks or arranges
Explain differences from the estimate and update the cargo list and quote if packing or the shipping plan changes. Provide your shipment-specific quote and agreement privately.
    The record to keep
The matching cargo list and written quote, with approved revisions kept together.
  5. Check the packing and loading record

    You provide or decide
Request the available packing or loading photos and shipment reference. Check that the record belongs to your goods.
    The team checks or arranges
Arrange the confirmed packing, shipping documents and loading. Identify the event and date being reported: loading a container does not mean the vessel has sailed.
    The record to keep
Available packing and loading evidence, with a dated shipment or container reference.
  6. Check the milestone, not just the date

    You provide or decide
Confirm what starts and ends the quoted time window. Ask for an updated plan if a date changes, and report changes to your address or receiving availability.
    The team checks or arranges
Share confirmed movement and customs updates, distinguish estimated from actual milestones, and explain schedule changes and any delivery action needed.
    The record to keep
Dated updates naming warehouse release, vessel departure, port arrival or the agreed delivery milestone as applicable—not one ambiguous dispatch date.
  7. Prepare the handover and keep the receipt

    You provide or decide
Confirm the appointment, access and agreed unloading arrangements. Check package count and visible condition, photograph concerns and note them on the receipt where the handover process allows.
    The team checks or arranges
Confirm the named delivery point and responsibilities, then help review any transport issue under your confirmed transport agreement. Unloading, carrying inside and installation are not automatic.
    The record to keep
The delivery instruction and dated handover record, with remarks or issue evidence where needed. Record actual handover separately from a later receipt-confirmation message.

Receiving, packing and delivery arrangements are confirmed for your shipment before the corresponding work is authorised. Ask which dates are estimates and which milestones have actually happened.
